Privacy Policy
Clocking In Pty Ltd (ACN 702 501 442, ABN 18 702 501 442) (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy and handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains how we handle information in connection with the Clocking In app (the “App”) and our website at clockingin.app.
1. Summary
Your training data (workouts, custom programs, logged sets, bodyweight, personal records, streaks and progress) is stored on your device. We do not collect it, and it is not sent to us or to any server. You do not need an account to use the App. Apple processes your subscription, and we receive only limited, mostly aggregated information from Apple, as described in section 5. If you email us, we receive the details you send. We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information we collect
Information stored on your device. The fitness information you enter, including exercises, sets, reps, loads, bodyweight, session times, notes, custom programs, personal records and achievements, is stored on your device so the App can run your sessions and show your progress. It stays on your device unless you choose to export or back it up yourself. Because this is health-related information, the App is built to keep it on your device by default.
Information we receive when you subscribe. When you buy a subscription, Apple handles the purchase through the App Store. We do not receive your payment card details. We may receive limited, mostly aggregated information from Apple, such as subscription status, plan type, country, and whether a free trial converted.
Information you give us directly. If you contact us or ask to join our launch list, we receive the information you send, such as your email address and the content of your message. These emails come to our own inbox.
Technical information. The App does not include third-party analytics or crash-reporting tools. If you consent at the device level, Apple may provide us with anonymous, aggregated app analytics, such as crash counts, device type and operating-system version, through its standard App Analytics. We cannot identify you from this information.
3. How we use information
We use the limited information we hold to operate and support the App, manage subscriptions through Apple, respond to your enquiries, send you messages you have asked to receive, and meet our legal obligations. Because your training data stays on your device, we generally cannot access it.
4. Health and sensitive information
Fitness and bodyweight data can be sensitive. You provide this information yourself, and by design it stays on your device under your control. We do not use it for any purpose other than running the App’s features on your device. If we ever add a feature that would send this data off your device, such as cloud backup or sync, we will ask for your consent and update this policy before we do.
5. Third parties
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. Apple processes App Store purchases and subscriptions and, where you have opted in, provides anonymous aggregate app analytics. Apple’s handling of your information is governed by Apple’s own Privacy Policy. If we later use other service providers, such as an email or subscription-reporting tool, we will name them here before we start.
6. Overseas disclosure
Some service providers, including Apple, may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. Where information is disclosed overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
7. Data retention and security
We keep the limited personal information we hold, such as emails you send us, only for as long as we need it for the purposes described or as the law requires, and then we delete or de-identify it. We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Training data on your device is protected by your device’s own security, and deleting the App removes that data from your device.
8. Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you may ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, and you may unsubscribe from our emails at any time. To make a request, contact us at support@clockingin.app. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
9. Children
The App is intended for adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A person under 18 may use the App only under the supervision of a parent, guardian or coach who agrees to our Terms of Use, as set out in those Terms.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available at clockingin.app/privacy, with the “last updated” date shown above.
